On Monday, December 2nd, we launched the Christmas Marathon at Globe International School!

A joint working team composed of school managers, administrative staff and teachers had developed the project to achieve some important goals. The GIS Christmas Marathon certainly has the 'Jolly' touch, however, our Marathon is not only a festive occasion and the context filled with pleasure and fun, but also it aims at the objectives raised by EU 2020.

Our 17-day marathon is about exploring our national identity, broadening our horizons, getting to know Christmas traditions in the English, German and French-speaking world and becoming a more international school through learning activities in all the languages learned at Globe International School.

It will not only help boost knowledge, but also strengthen our students` intercultural competence and, as a result, they will improve their behavioural skills that lead to effective and appropriate communication with people of other cultures.

The format chosen for the marathon is a popular tradition of advent calendars that arose in Germany and spread throughout Europe and North America.
